PackEye Radiation Detection Backpack
Radiation detection backpack for locating radioactive sources on foot, for security and border control.
The PackEye is a radiation detection backpack for field use. It can be tied into the Thermo Scientific ViewPoint Enterprise platform or other remote monitoring software, with data sent via Bluetooth or an optional radio module (900 MHz, 2.4 GHz or commercial cellular).
- Worn as a backpack to quickly locate orphaned sources, radiation contamination and potential malicious intent sources
- Natural Background Rejection (NBR) discriminates between natural and artificial radiation and minimises nuisance alarms
- High neutron detection sensitivity with Li-6 detectors, without the need for He-3
- Simple green and red LED notification, proficient in minutes with limited training
- Approx. 30 h of operation for the gamma/neutron version and approx. 60 to 70 h for the gamma only version
